The Assistant Teacher is a school age youth development worker that will actively lead and engage scholars in all program components and activities of the YMCA Afterschool Signature Program. Responsible for the daily supervision of an assigned group, is a positive adult role model, and guides scholars to support academic, social emotional, and physical development. To accomplish this, assistant teachers will be required to participate in ongoing professional development and planning sessions with lead teachers and site managers on a regular scheduled basis. General program schedule follows school district calendar Monday through Friday 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, part-time.
The Group Exercise Instructor supports the work of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The West Cook YMCA's Group Exercise Instructors provide instruction for group exercise classes onsite and offsite and may assist with special events. Group Exercise Instructors offer participants planned programs to advance their workout efficiency, improve fitness abilities, increase strength, and most importantly improve their overall well-being.
The Kid Zone Worker is responsible for the care of children, (infant, toddler, preschool, school-age), in the Y Kid Zone room. The Kid Zone room is designed to be a space where kids experience interactive play, create relationships, and explore new things while parents/guardians are in the Y facility.
This position supports the work of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The West Cook YMCA's Personal Trainer will provide fitness consultations, one-on-one, and small group personal training sessions, and assistance with and/or be prepared to substitute for classes, programming and special events. This is done with an emphasis on maintaining safety and the quality of the program, remaining up-to-date on fitness trends and education materials, and increasing the number of participants served.
